Happy Tuesday! I hope y’all had a restful weekend. I wanted to share my recent trip to Seattle. Doug and I will be calling Washington home in a few months, so the majority of this trip was house hunting. We still took some time to explore the city, and below are some highlights of our trip.
Where I stayed: The Kimpton Alexis: I LOVED this hotel. The location was perfect. We could easily walk to the ferry. The ferry ride in itself was BEAUTIFUL. The Bookstore Bar inside the Kimpton is also very unique bar that is a great hangout spot to grab a nightcap. The Kimpton was also in walking distance to the famous Pike Place Market.
- Pike Place Market– I did not realize how big the market really is! This is a must when in Seattle. Be sure to checkout the famous fish market, and fresh flowers (I was swooning over the gorgeous tulips & peonies). The original Starbucks and Post Alley/Gum Wall is also in walking distance of the market.
2. Space Needle- It was very touristy, but a MUST see. Some of the most beautiful views of the city.
3. Snoqualmie Falls- We really got lucky with the weather when we were visiting so I was itching to get out of the city for a bit and explore the outdoors. Snoqualmie Falls was such a beautiful place to go on a nice walk & take in views of the waterfall. It’s about 35 minutes outside of the city.
4. Sunset Watching– I am a lover of West Coast sunsets. One night we took a fast ferry to West Seattle and rented bikes to bike around Alki Beach at sunset. The next night, we walked from our hotel down to Seattle Great Wheel and watched the sunset (picture below).
I cannot wait to explore more of the city! Please leave comments of your favorite spots in Seattle!
